BAAG is the British/Irish advocacy and networking agency which aims to support humanitarian and development programmes in Afghanistan.

BAAG will hold a week-long series of Gender Events in London during the week starting 24thMarch 2014.  BAAG are currently working with a number of leading Afghanistan-based gender and women’s rights experts to support their participation in the events.  The discussions, presentations and meetings will culminate in a 2 day Gender Conference, the aim of which is to discuss the challenges of gender programming in Afghanistan since 2001 and to present recommendations regarding effective programming for the immediate and longer-term future. These recommendations will be directed at policy makers, donors and gender programme practitioners.

BAAG will produce a detailed report of the Conference and of those other pertinent meetings or discussions from the week.  The report will be shared widely and internationally and will be used as a tool to inform policy and briefing papers and to further BAAG’s gender programme development.

An experienced and professional report writer is therefore required.  This individual will capture in detail the discussions, debates and recommendations of the week and will consolidate these into a single document.  The report writer will be supported during the week of the Gender Event by 1-2 volunteer report writers and will be responsible for them.
